Proposal Writing Seminar

On Oct 24, 2012, Rick Weinstein, President & Founder of Lis4cg, participated in an all-day proposal grantseeking writing seminar at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Los Angeles.  This seminar was presented by Marilyn Holt representing the Foundation Center, the leading source of information about philanthropy worldwide.  Through data, analysis, and training, the Foundation Center connects people who want to change the world, to the resources they need to succeed.  The seminar is a general introduction to the more intensive three-day proposal writing bootcamp that Mr. Weinstein will be attending in December in San Francisco.  The one-day seminar covered:

  • The Process from the respective eyes of the grantseeker and the grantmaker
  • Write the Proposal including tips, competitive factors, technology, overview, executive summary, need, project description and budget, organizational information, conclusion, cover page, title, table of content, appendix, cover letter and finishing touches
  • Research foundation and corporate grantmakers
  • Build the Relationship before applying, while pending and after the decision

The seminar was attended by 12 fundraising professionals representing health, cancer research, cultural history, education, social impact, and disabled learning.
